International edition of this compilation from the Manchester quartet, born from the ashes of Joy Division. This pressing of the Best of New Order is practically a different album from it's American counterpart. The tracks featured here and not found on the U.S. edition include 'The Perfect Kiss', 'Shell Shock' (from the motion picture Pretty in Pink), 'Thieves Like Us' and '1963' (64 version). The Best Of Joy Division | Joy Division
Joy Division were the standard bearers of post-punk at end of the 1970s, capturing angst and pathos into dark aural tapestries that were energetic, disturbing and groundbreaking at the same time. This special international release presents fourteen of their best known recordings and comes with a bonus disc featuring a previously out-of-print set of complete BBC sessions, mostly recorded for John Peels radio show. Topping it all off are interviews with Ian Curtis and Stephen Morris conducted by Richard Skinner.Tracklist:DigitalDisorderShadowplayNew Dawn FadesTransmissionAtmosphereDead SoulsShe's Lost ControlLove Will Tear Us ApartThese Days24 HoursHeart and SoulIncubationIsolationExercise One [31 January 79] (John Peel Sessions)Insight [31 January 79] (John Peel Sessions)She's Lost Control [31 January 79] (John Peel Sessions)Transmission [31 January 79] (John Peel Sessions)Love Will Tear Us Apart [26 November 79] (John Peel Sessions)24 Hours [26 November 79] (John Peel Sessions)Colony […

I See You (4 Discs) | The Xx
I See You (4 Discs) | The Xx
Deluxe limited 180 gram vinyl LP pressing includes bonus tracks and CD. The xx's I See You is marked by a tonal shift to something close to pure, crisp pop structure, adorned by unusual crescendos that echo a dextrous DJ inching their dancer toward climax without ever quite lifting the house lights. It's lyric sheet moves from the danger and hopelessness of love to it's deliciousness and rapture; a move into a more outward looking proposition. I See You is recognizably still The xx but is now powered by the voluble ambition of it's three perfect counterweights to one another starting to not just realize but harness their full potential. You might even want to think of the decisive move from Joy Division to New Order here, too. When they take their plum festival slots in 2017, armed with the ten most robust songs of their career, The xx should prick the skin and touch gently the shoulder of an audience reaching to the back of the field.Tracklist:DangerousSay Something LovingLipsA Violen…

Good Girl Gone Bad (2 Discs) | Rihanna
Good Girl Gone Bad (2 Discs) | Rihanna
Good Girl Gone Bad is the third studio album by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna. It was released on May 31, 2007, by Def Jam Recordings and SRP Records. Rihanna worked with various producers on the album, including Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Terius "Dream" Nash, Neo da Matrix, Timbaland, Carl Sturken, Evan Rogers and StarGate. Inspired by Brandy Norwood's fourth studio album Afrodisiac (2004), Good Girl Gone Bad is a dance-pop, pop and R&B album with 1980s music influences. Described as a turning point in Rihanna's career, it represents a departure from the Caribbean sound of her previous releases, Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl like Me (2006). Apart from the sound, she also endorsed a new image for the release going from an innocent girl to an edgier and more sexual look. Critics gave generally positive reviews of the album, praising it's composition and Rihanna's new musical direction, though some criticized the record's lyrics and inconsistency. The album received seven Gr…

Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic (2 Discs) | Prince
Double purple vinyl LP pressing. Prince had taken quite the ownership of the year 1999, so it was no surprise that the last year of the millennium was one of The Artist's biggest. The album was his only release for Arista Records and the last to be released under his unpronounceable symbol. It features a surprising amount of guest artists (Chuck D, Eve, Gwen Stefani, Shery Crow) and a clutch of radio-friendly tracks ("The Greatest Romance Ever Sold," "So Far," "So Pleased," "Hot Wit U," a cover of Crow's "Everyday Is a Winding Road").Tracklist:Disc/Side1Rave Un 2 the Joy FantasticUndisputedThe Greatest Romance Ever SoldDisc/Side2Segue B 2. Marvin Gaye Collected (2 Discs) | Marvin Gaye
Double 180 gram vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. Motown released the first Marvin Gaye record in 1961. Gaye scored his first real hit with 'Stubborn Kind of Fellow' in 1962, which he had co-written himself, joking about his alleged stubbornness. The foundations were now laid for an enormous series of chart successes: 'Pride And Joy', 'Can I Get A Witness', 'How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)' and 'Ain't That Peculiar' are all Motown classics from 1963-1965 which are still being regularly played today after all these years. The duets he recorded with Kim Weston ('It Takes Two') and especially Tammi Terrell were certainly at least as good. He scored his biggest ever hit with 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' in 1968. The 'What's Going On' from the same named album became a number 1 hit in the USA and the album was received as a masterpiece everywhere and is now regarded as one of the most important records in pop history. In 1973, the artistically and commercially very successful…
