Four essential bath parts 

You already know that baths consist of dozens of different parts. However, not all of those are equally important. Some of them are essential for the working of the bath. But a few of them are just extra features that are not necessary but helpful, nonetheless. Knowing which ones are essential and which ones are optional is very important. Shower 

It is obvious that a bath is not a bath without a shower. While most baths have a faucet that works as the primary water supply, showers give you much more flexibility and control. Also, sometimes you want to have the water coming from above. Maybe you might not want to fill up the bath every time, or you just need to get a quick shower. So, depending on your personal preference, you can have any type of showerhead. Shower valves will let you switch between hot water and cold water pretty easily with just a turn of the valve.  

Tub 

A bathtub is basically a vessel for holding the water so that you can have a bath. The major difference between a shower and a tub is that you use a shower while standing upright and use a tub while lying down or reclining. A typical bathtub will hold more than a hundred litres of water. While this is not as much as an inflatable pool, it is a pretty significant amount of water. In all bathtubs, there will be a central drain at the base of the tub. Newer models come with temperature sensors and automatic controls that help you set the water temperature.  

Drain 

The drain is really important among all the bath parts. This is because you need to plug the drain close if you want to fill up the tub with water. So, if you want to take a quick shower, you can take the plug open, and when you want to fill the tub, you use the same plug to close the drain. But in order to stop the tub from overflowing, there will be a small hole that connects to the drain towards the top of the tub. You cannot fill the water above this point. But bathtub drains tend to get clogged once in a while. This happens due to the buildup of hair, and there is little you can do to stop it from happening ever.  

Flexible connector 

Flexible connectors are not unique to bathtubs. In fact, flexible connectors are used regularly in all kinds of plumbing. The difference between a flexible connector and a normal plumbing connection is that the former uses soft plastic. Because of this, joints between pipes will have more freedom of motion. Flexible connectors are what connect the showerhead to the control valve of the bath. Other places you will find flexible connectors in a bathroom are in toilet cisterns and the connection between basin faucets and the main water supply.
