Built for the Ultimate Playing Experience
The PS14ce Presentation Series Grand Auditorium acoustic guitar from Taylor is built to provide the ultimate playing experience. It carries a Adirondack Spruce top and Honduran Rosewood back and sides that produce a warm tone, focused midrange, and powerful attack. This acoustic-electric guitar is loaded with Taylor's ES-2 pickup that delivers a unique and faithful re-creation of the acoustic sound when plugged in. To match the premium sound and woods, this guitar has a radius armrest, Taylor's revolutionary V-Class bracing system, and breathtaking pearl inlays all around the body, neck, and headstock. Constructed from premium tonewoods and carrying upgraded electronics, the Taylor PS14ce is the perfect balance of good looks, stunning sound, and effortless playability.
Grand Auditorium body design meets V-Class bracing
Introduced in 1994, the Grand Auditorium is Taylor's most popular body design. Bob Taylor designed the grand auditorium to work perfectly with fingerstyle players and flatpickers alike. Now, the classic Grand Auditorium body meets Taylor's V-Class bracing system. The V-shaped bracing is strong enough to resist the tension of the strings, yet it's flexible enough to let the top vibrate freely. This bracing helps to create a clearer sound and heightened intonation. The end result of the body shape and bracing is a superbly resonant bass response, springy midrange, and clear treble.
Exotic tonewoods set the stage
For the PS14ce, Taylor chose to pair a beautiful Adirondack Spruce top with Honduran Rosewood and sides. Adirondack tone is a mixture of cedar's warmth and the clear, punchy attack of spruce. Honduran Rosewood is similar to mahogany with its focused midrange but can produce the high-end clarity of rosewood. When you combine the two tonewoods, you create a resonant guitar body that has noticeable midrange definition and plenty of volume.
Slim neck works with any playing style
No guitar is complete without its neck. Taylor stays true to their roots with the mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard that produce clear, bright note definition. The guitar techs here at Sweetwater liked the neck of this guitar so much that they didn't want to put it down. The slim carve and satin finish of this neck feel at home in your hand; you'll find that it's just as easy to play cowboy chords as it is to play a melody high up on the neck. The 15" radius ebony fingerboard adds extra brightness to the mahogany's creamy midrange focus. Playing this neck is love at first note.
Innovative Taylor Expression System 2 electronics
When you're ready to plug in the PS14ce, you'll be blown away by Taylor's ES-2 pickup. Located behind the saddle, this pickup is more sensitive to the movement of the bridge than other, similar pickups. Instead of sounding thin and synthetic, like other bridge pickups, the ES-2 system captures the entire sound picture. An acoustic guitar has never sounded more present and full when played through an amplifier. What's more, the Taylor PS14ce's presence and depth of sound allow it to track well with other instruments onstage and in the studio.
