Lyric Speaker Box is the third in a series of next-generation speakers that display lyrics in sync with the music. The new system enables horizontal and vertical playback. When you select your favorite music from your smartphone and play it, the song's lyrics will be displayed on a transparent screen. The latest music analysis technology automatically analyzes the mood and structure of the song, and the expression engine in the speaker generates motion graphics for each song. Lyric Speaker is the only speaker in the world equipped with Lyric Sync Technology, a technology that automatically and beautifully visualizes lyrics.
This is enabled by the lyrics chorus-section detection technology developed by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). This is the world's first technology whose research article was accepted at ISMIR 2020, the top international conference in music information processing. Moreover, using AIST's lyrics mood estimation technology, the lyrics displayed on the transparent LCD monitor are automatically analyzed. Utilizing these cutting-edge technologies develops and installs emotional motion graphics such as calm motion graphics when gentle lyrics are sung, dynamic motion graphics when uplifting lyrics are sung, and powerful motion graphics for the chorus sections.
Lyric Speaker uses the Role font, which Morisawa jointly created with world-renowned typeface designer Matthew Carter as the main designer. Supported languages are English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (simplified/traditional), Hindi and Thai. As for sound, COTODAMA has adopted two-way bass-reflex speakers developed in collaboration with the maestro TOM'S LAB to achieve a wide-range sound. Facing music with your sense of sight and hearing is like having artist weave words just for you in the same space, and the words you perceive may move you and give you new ideas.
